How do the granules work? Why is there no liquid in the collection container?
How do the granules work?
The granules in the moisture absorber absorb moisture from the air. At first, the granules harden, becoming a solid mass. Later, when the granules have absorbed enough moisture, the moisture starts to drip into the collection container. This process can take several weeks.
So, if you don’t see any liquid in the collection container in the first days or weeks, it doesn’t mean that your moisture absorber isn’t working. The granules in the moisture absorber are working and hardening; they are absorbing moisture. After a while, liquid will start to drip into the collection container.
You have to wait a few weeks to see the effect of the moisture absorber. Then, you’ll notice lower humidity and a more pleasant indoor atmosphere.
What factors influence how long it takes to see moisture in the collection container?
There are several factors that influence how long it takes for liquid to collect in the container.
– The humidity in the room. If the humidity is very high, liquid will collect faster than if the humidity is only slightly higher than the optimal level.
– The temperature of the room. If the temperature in the room is high, the granules will absorb moisture faster and also release liquid into the collection container faster than if the temperature in the room is lower.
– If you’ve been using moisture absorbers in your home for a long time, the humidity may already be at an optimal level. In that case, only a small amount of moisture can be absorbed by the granules.
After you set up your moisture absorber, it may take a few weeks before you notice its effect and for liquid to start collecting in the collection container. So, don’t worry if you don’t see liquid in the container during the first few days. This is completely normal and does not mean that your moisture absorber isn’t working.
